Repairs on Lansdowne Road are finished, and the road is open to traffic, according to the City of Fredericksburg.

A sinkhole at the edge of the road near its intersection with Route 2 was threatening the roadway, so it was closed for repairs April 9.

Repair crews finished the project earlier than originally anticipated. Crews still need to put new markings on the repaired road, but it is open for travel.

Benchmark Road, which was closed in February after heavy rain caused a bridge to fail, is still under repairs. VDOT is installing concrete culverts to replace the metal drainage pipes that had deteriorated under the bridge. VDOT expects Benchmark to be closed until June 5.
