Southern Fried Funeral
Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24 3 pm
Prince Michel Vineyard & Winery, 154 Winery Ln, Leon, VA
Southern Fried Funeral by Osbourne & Epple R. Dewey Frye is dead and the rest of his family is left to pick up the pieces — that is if they don’t kill each other first. Not only does matriarch Dorothy have to contend with sudden widowhood, but she’s also faced with church-committee harpy Ozella Meeks sticking her nose in the family business, Dewey’s snake-in-the-grass brother making a grab for her house, and two grown daughters reliving their childhood rivalry. Funerals bring out the worst, the best, and the funniest in people and the Fryes are no exception. A big- hearted comedy about family — Southern-style.

42
Saturday, June 23 7:30-10:30 pm
Packard Campus Theater, 19053 Mount Pony Rd
This critically acclaimed biopic focuses on the relationship between legendary baseball star Jackie Robinson and Brooklyn Dodgers general manager Branch Rickey, who signed Robinson to the team in 1947, breaking Major League Baseball’s infamous color line that had existed in professional baseball since the 1880s. The contract subjected both Robinson and Rickey to condemnation from the public, the press and even other players. Facing blatant racism from every side, Robinson was forced to demonstrate tremendous courage and restraint by not reacting in kind, knowing that any incident could destroy his and Rickey's hopes. Instead, he let his talent on the field do the talking-ultimately winning over fans and his teammates, silencing his critics, and paving the way for others to follow.

The Depot
Join us as we host the World War I and World War II Profiles of Honor mobile History Museum. Profiles of Honor brings to life Virginia’s integral role in both wars, highlighting stories of Virginians who served in both conflicts. As part of the tour, visitors are invited to bring their own WWI and WWII-related photographs to be scanned for inclusion in the Virginia Profiles of Honor project. This partnership with the Library of Virginia will help preserve the documents and stories of our veterans for generations to come. In addition to the History Mobile, Culpeper wants to capture and record Oral Histories. We will be offering three days for veterans and veteran family members to come and Share their Story.
