Jane Shelhorse Named Fredericksburg Parks, Recreation & Public Facilities Director

Jane Shelhorse has been named director of Fredericksburg Parks, Recreation & Public Facilities.
She succeeds Bob Antozzi, who retired in August, after 29 years with the department.
Shelhorse served as director of Louisa County Parks, Recreation & Tourism since 2007. Prior to that, she served 20 years with Fredericksburg Parks, Recreation & Public Facilities, working her way through the ranks to become assistant director, before heading to Louisa to be director.
“Recreation enhances peoples’ lives, and I truly believe that it is an important service that we provide the community,” Shelhorse said on the Louisa County Parks, Recreation & Tourism website.
“Family is very important to me, and when I’m not working, I’m spending time with my husband, children and grandchildren, dogs, and horses.”
Jane’s husband is a former Fredericksburg Police officer, according to Assistant City Manager Mark Whitley.
