Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park Summer Hours and Programs

Summer hours of operation and special summer programs will begin at all of the sites administered by Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Most of the programs are offered through Labor Day on Monday, September 5, but all are available through Sunday, August 14, 2016.

Audio tours covering the Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Wilderness and Spotsylvania Court House battlefields, each lasting three hours, are available at the visitor center bookstores for rent with a $20 cash deposit, or for purchase.

Fredericksburg Battlefield
Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center, 1013 Lafayette Blvd., Fredericksburg, Va.
Open daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
22-minute film shown on the hour and half hour (Ages 10-61: $2, Ages 61 and above: $1, Children under 10 are free. Fee can be paid in the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center Bookstore
The Visitor Center Bookstore is located on the eastern side of parking lot, open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Audio tours are available for purchase or rent at this site.

Sunken Road Walking Tour — 35-minute guided walk (approximately ½ mile long)
Weekdays: 10:25, 11:25, 1:25, 2:25, 3:25
Weekends: 10:25, 11:25, 12:25, 1:25, 2:25, 3:25
Departs from Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center

Innis House open most days from 9:15 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Children’s Civil War Discovery Programs – 1-hour activity
Fridays at 11 a.m.

Children’s Soldier Life Programs – 1-hour activity
Saturdays at 11 a.m.

Chatham
Chatham Manor, 120 Chatham Ln., Fredericksburg, Va.
Historic plantation and Union hospital
Open daily, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Bookstore located inside Chatham manor at the entrance, open daily 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Note: Audio tours are not available at this site.

“Stonewall” Jackson Shrine

Chancellorsville Battlefield

Wilderness Battlefield

“Grant vs. Lee: No Turning Back” Walking Tour
45-minute guided walk daily at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Departs from Wilderness Battlefield Tour Stop #2 (approximately ¼ mile long)

“Into the Wilderness: Control of the Key Intersection”
30-minute program daily at 1:30 pm
Departs from Wilderness Battlefield Tour Stop #8 (approximately ¼ mile long)

Ellwood — Historic building used as a Union headquarters.
Ellwood Manor, 36380 Constitution Hwy., Route 20, Locust Grove, Va.
Graveyard contains “Stonewall” Jackson’s amputated arm.
Open daily, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Spotsylvania Court House Battlefield
Spotsylvania Court House Battlefield, 9550 Grant Dr., Spotsylvania Courthouse, Va.
Spotsylvania Exhibit Shelter
Park historian on duty to explain the battle
Daily, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Bloody Angle Walking Tour
45-minute guided walk daily at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Departs from Spotsylvania Battlefield Tour Stop #3 (approximately ¾ mile long)

For more information, call the park operator line at 540-693-3200, staffed daily 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. by a park ranger who can provide information and answer questions about all park sites.
