Know when you can’t (and can) pass a school bus

The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office reminds you to stop if a bus has its stop-arm extended and red lights flashing. This applies to all roads unless there is a physical barrier or median. When it comes to a divided highway, only vehicles going in the same direction are required to stop.
If you drive in rural areas, make sure you’re extra aware of your surroundings. Also, be aware of pedestrians – particularly around bus stops and schools.
Let’s ensure our students get to and from school safely!
