Fredericksburg Symphony Orchestra  –   Classical Masterworks!

On the heels of Fredericksburg Symphony’s spectacular “Flashbang“ Concert, the FSO has scheduled “Classical Masterworks” on October 24^th.

Experience an unforgettable evening of Bach, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky — three of classical music’s most enduring masterpieces in a single program.

Internationally acclaimed violinist Timothy Chooi takes center stage in Tchaikovsky’s monumental Violin Concerto, bringing breathtaking virtuosity, expressive depth, and a fresh, fearless energy to one of the most demanding and beloved works ever written for the instrument.

Hack for Humanity is a free, one-day AI build at the University of Mary Washington. Teams of two to four take on a real problem from the Fredericksburg area and leave with a working demo by the end of the day.

You do not need to know how to code. AI tools now turn plain-English instructions into working apps, so a small business owner who understands a problem is as valuable to a team as an engineer.

Open to the public. Students, residents, business owners, and builders of every experience level are welcome. Come solo or bring a team; people who come alone can find teammates at check-in. Seats are limited to 50, and hosts approve each registration. Please register by October 10 to help us plan.

Schedule
8:30 a.m.: Doors open, check-in, and networking
9:00 a.m.: Welcome and problem framing
9:30 a.m.: Hacking, with mentors in the room
3:30 p.m.: Demos and judging
4:30 p.m.: Awards and closing
5:00 p.m.: End

Hosted by AI Collective Fredericksburg and the University of Mary Washington as part of The AI Collective’s global Hack for Humanity. Winning teams may be featured in The AI Collective’s newsletter, which reaches more than 300,000 subscribers.

When a misunderstanding catapults him to unexpected internet fame, Evan Hansen becomes an unlikely symbol of hope for a grieving family and discovers a sense of belonging he has never dared imagine. But navigating a world fractured by loneliness and driven by social media comes at a cost, and Evan must ultimately reckon with the gap between the life he has carefully constructed online and a truth he can no longer outrun. This Tony Award-winning musical from the songwriters behind The Greatest Showman and La La Land soars with raw emotional power, delivering a deeply human story about connection, identity, and what it truly means to be seen.
